(39,961 posts)I'd probably use an abacus, a slide rule and a protractor while building my futuristic hut with my leatherman tool kit on a desert island. Mine has a socket set and the bit driver extension. It weighs less than a pound and as a bonus I can put it in a sock made from the travel sewing kit to beat the shit out of things.

I find Apple and the tech world in general more than a bit disgusting. But I can't say that in public.

Before I retired my bosses cared what time it was, so they provided me with a clock on my office wall. So even then I didn't need a watch.

(12,754 posts)Not K-mart, but a cheap watch with a big white face and black numbers -- so I can see the freaking thing. I tend to be hard on watches. So I don't like expensive ones.
When I graduated from college, my uncle gave me a nice watch that was gold (ish) with a gold face, tiny gold marks for numbers, and thin, thin gold hands. I never knew what time it was.
