What is going on with our political system, Truthseekers? Politics have always been nutty (especially the Neocon variety), but recent events have taken a turn toward lunatic. You might be tempted to think that a story about Republican Senators taking bribes from a foreign country to overtly sabotage the President’s foreign policy negotiations would be the most outrageous story of the week. Or the fascination/obsession over Hillary’s email that has whipped the corporate media into a frenzy the most bizarre news of the weird. You would be wrong.
Drunken secret service agents careening into the White House barricades? You’re getting warmer . . . . Adding insult to injury, the lushy lawmen accidentally ran over a suspicious package that other (presumably sober) federal agents were examining, disrupting the active bomb investigation.
Oopsie.
Just the latest embarrassing misadventure by these Presidential protectors. Somebody ought to slip some Antabuse into their government issue thermoses, maybe add a dash of saltpeter for good measure. Strippers, prostitutes, allowing knife-wielding intruders to roam the White House . . . were these drunken dolts personally trained by the Bush twins? They should consult John Boehner on the fine points of how to get sloshed on the job, without crashing into anything conspicuous.
But the dubious honor of “whack-job of the week” has to be awarded to Rep. Justin Harris of Arkansas (R/Psycho), who gave his adopted preschool daughters to a rapist because he was convinced they were possessed by the devil. That’s right.
Raw Story has the unbelievable details:
An Arkansas Republican state representative is facing serious scrutiny after he apparently “rehomed” his adopted daughters to a household where one of the girls, age 6, was raped by the father. Furthermore, Rep. Justin Harris is accused of continuing to take state funds intended for the girls’ care even after his family had given them away.
Wonkette reported on an Arkansas Times exposé about Harris and the Christian pre-school he runs with his wife, a school that employed the sexual predator who raped the 6-year-old girl.
When the Times asked Harris why he handed over his adopted daughter to a sexual predator without ever consulting state authorities or the foster care system, the legislator quoted the Christian Bible’s Book of Isaiah, saying, “No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.”
It appears, the Times said, that Harris and his wife Marsha took in two little girls in September of 2012. The girls were sisters and in foster care because a male relative had sexually abused the older girl and left her traumatized.
Babysitter Chelsey Goldsborough told the Times that when she cared for the children in the home, she was alarmed at how the family treated the girls, who initially arrived in the home with an older sister. The Times, for the sake of clarity, gave the girls false names.
The eldest, Jeannette, was 6 years old when the girls arrived in the Harris home in the fall of 2012. The middle sister Mary was 4 and Annie, the youngest, about 2 years old. The Harrises formally adopted the girls six months later in March, 2013. By October of 2013, something had gone seriously wrong in the home. The Harrises — who had three older biological sons — handed off the two girls to Eric and Stacey Francis, essentially abandoning them.
Jeannette was the first of the girls to be cast out of the Harris home. Rep. Harris says that she posed a threat to the three biological sons the Harrises already had. The oldest girl was sent for treatment at a state hospital while Mary and Annie remained with the family.
Goldsborough told the Times that Mary was mostly confined to her room and monitored by video camera. Marsha Harris told the babysitter that the girls were demonically possessed and that they had to be kept separate because they could communicate telepathically. One of the girls crushed the family’s guinea pig to death, Marsha Harris claimed, and the family were so frightened of the children that they summoned an exorcist from Alabama to perform a casting-out of the girls’ demons.
“The first night I was over there, I just broke down and cried with this little girl because I just felt so bad for her,” said Goldsborough. The Harrises used an elaborate system of locks, video cameras and alarms to separate the girls because they believed they would kill their entire family.
Court documents say that the older of the two girls was raped by Eric Francis in January of 2014, when his wife was out of state. Francis confessed to the sexual assault and is currently serving a 40-year sentence.
Harris is the perfect hypocritical Christian Rapture Rightie, with an extra helping of batshit. Demon- possessed little girls who crush guinea pigs?! Extra points for creativity, Harris. What ever happened to good ol’ fashioned head spinning and projectile pea soup vomiting?
The story would be comical – if it wasn’t criminal child abuse. Imagine those poor traumatized little girls. First assaulted in their birth homes, then tortured by this cretin. Can you imagine being sexually asaulted, then turned over to this religious nutjob who locks you up in his personal asylum, then turned over to the custody of a rapist.
What hell is wrong with the people of Arkansas who elected this twisted bastard?
