I think Bin Laden was worth more alive than dead just because of his head. He was able to plan & organize a global organization in a very limited way, CIA lucked out in finding his location because of the senior official intercepted entering the country which the reason for because the Jordan black flag terrorist went wild with the brutality & the civilian bombings, from the 90s to 2000s they had a set way & rules but with this guy doing his own thing he was to be demoted.
There was a lot of CIA propaganda in that 2 hours but it certainly had information in it that would be difficult to find elsewhere, this is from the analysts' mouths who Al-Zarqawi (spelling without Wiki) was unusual compared to the Al-Qaeda they were chasing. I believe them regarding them how much pressure Bush & others put on them to find Bin Laden, one point mentioning more aggressive changes & changing the rules or removing more rules & the first guy he was senseless tortured (water boarded 80+ times) and found out nothing, it the end they tried dirt on Jose Padilla, saying he said he taught Jose Padilla how to build a dirty bomb but I think someone official testified similar words that it wasn't credibility or a lie (or the equivalent value) that statement was. Now was several mental scars and still held in Guantanamo to this day.
I have no idea what it was like to be in the room but if he easily could have been caught he should have been but I think they killed some family along the way, don't know the details of them but do know they'd be more difficult to classify as an "enemy combatant" than Bin Laden of all people.
One thing the CIA documentary, very briefly mentioned early is when they had the board & putting photos on the board. Right after & next to Bin Laden's picture was the one responsible for the funding, specifically said "setting up charity fronts". I would have loved to hear them talk more about that guy but that was the only time they mentioned him the entire 2 hours. Interestingly, charity fronts is what ISIS receives their funding in & lawyers long trying to sue Saudi Arabia on behalf of 9/11 victims' families mentioned charity fronts back in the mid 2000s. Following the money doesn't seem to interest to people or afraid where the money takes you.
