On the radio today!

On the way home from work, I was listening to ESPN, and a very interesting commercial came on. A Glenn Beck commercial. It was about Marines and of how we have have been at war with radical Islam since 1801.

Imo, there is no need for something like this. The wrong people listen to this and are gonna freak out. OMG, we've been fighting Islam for over 200 years...

No place for hate mongering.

"The Battle of Derne was the decisive victory of a mercenary army led by a detachment of ten United States Marines against the forces of Ottoman Tripolitania during the First Barbary War. It was the first recorded land battle the United States fought overseas. U.S. forces and mercenaries marched for 600 miles (970 km) through the desert to attack Derne."

Thing is, Glenn was off by 4 years- Battle took place in 1805.
