Repub House Budget Proposal to be released this morning: Sharp cuts

to Medicaid, food stamps and health care subsidies, tens of billions more to the Pentagon (over what President Obama asked for).

House Republicans Tuesday will propose using tens of billions of dollars in additional war funding to get around tight budget limits on the Pentagon in their new budget plan. The move is designed to placate defense hawks, but is already making tough-on-spending elements in the party uneasy.

The latest plan by Republicans controlling the House also reprises sharp proposed cuts to the Medicaid program for the poor, food stamps and health care subsidies under so-called Obamacare.

House Budget Committee Chairman Tom Price is releasing the measure Tuesday morning. He's said it will promise balance within 10 years, if not before.

The Georgia Republican's plan borrows heavily from prior GOP budgets, including a plan that would transform Medicare into a voucher-like "premium support" program for seniors joining Medicare in 2024 or later. They would receive a subsidy to purchase health insurance on the private market.

to help kick it and keep it near the top??

It appears that the only OPs that stay afloat these days are those that are negative about the Democratic Party - especially the ones that encourage not to vote should Hillary Clinton be the nominee. Pertinent posts like this one quickly disappear...and then we have those who say we don't have trolls here. Uh-huh.

This should be cause for concern by true Democrats on DU who understand the stakes of losing to Republicans in 2016, and who are actually working to get the Democratic Party to win BIG in 2016 so that the United States can continue to prosper.

It's getting pretty sad when something like this gets ignored, but attacks on the president, Hillary, or any other candidate that doesn't fit a certain "purity" test for a certain group, gets to the greatest page, and gets hundreds of recs. It's really disgusting.

This post has my K&R!

the "sharp proposed cuts to the Medicaid program for the poor, food stamps and health care subsidies under so-called Obamacare". That much you can be sure will be in the House republican budget proposal.

telling the 99% that the cuts that are planned and the programs being cut are the those where more money is needed. The 1% is behind the cuts, no doubt.

If MSM doesn't care, how can it be made known that the House R's are hurting Americans?

Hosts on tv programs should be asked to have guests who oppose the cuts. It's almost hopeless to think that health care in the US could be as available as it is in other countries.......emailing Rachel and MSNBC, and CNN's news hosts to invite guests to inform the public would help.

I don't Twitter or Tweet - some DU'ers more computer-savvy might find that social media could draw attention to the cuts.

translate that into what it would be like if these disgusting pieces of venal trash have both houses of congress and the presidency. With the likes of bush, walker or any of the clown car passengers I see a frightening prospect for a truly dystopian future for all but the wealthy. I do not want that for my children or yours.

For more exposure. Is this what we want our congress to do? What will it be like if they gain the WH and keep control of congress? For all those who say the two parties are the same do you really think this would happen if demo rats had kept control of the Senate last election?

I AM MAD about this crap the repukes are doing and have been doing to this country and the world since they came up with a "cold war "

Yep most people just care about entertainment but don't forget plenty of people on DU do care about this planet . I'm not complaining about complaining because we have plenty to complain about so we must persevere ....
