Rick Perry PAC Staffer: Does God Really Want a Female President?

On Wednesday, Perry's political action committee, RickPAC, announced that Jamie Johnson had joined as senior director. According to The Des Moines Register, Johnson will be working for RickPAC in Iowa and other early Republican primary states.

Johnson, an ordained minister, is a former radio broadcaster who previously served as the director of outreach for Iowa Right to Life and the Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalition.

In 2012, he served as Iowa coalitions director for former Sen. Rick Santorum's (R-PA) presidential campaign. During that campaign cycle, The Des Moines Register reported an email Johnson sent to a friend in which he said that children's lives would be in danger if the country elected a female president.

"The question then comes, 'Is it God's highest desire, that is, his biblically expressed will,…to have a woman rule the institutions of the family, the church, and the state?" Johnson wrote in the email.

May as well wonder about Batman's thoughts on the matter.

And Elizabeth Warren would make a perfectly excellent president.

but the difference in terms of economic policy/corporatism is now too small to be measurable save in terms of multiples the Planck length (about a billionth of a billionth of a meter).

And once the populace is finally reduced to complete corporate serfdom the social issues won't matter much if at all.

African Americans and Latinos out there living in poverty? Are minorities living in poverty not social issues? They are one in the same. You cannot have one without the other so stop demonizing people who want both social justice and economic justice.

and it says things like this:

"Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says."

That's 1st Corinthians 14:34 -- in the NEW testament.

So he's not wrong about what his "god" wants.

He's entirely wrong to believe such a god exists. But he's got a lot of company there!

Liz Mair got cashiered by the Scott Walker campaign earlier this week for calling the Bible banging hayshakers of Iowa a bunch of Bible banging hayshakers. The lesson being, I guess, that you better not bad-mouth Iowans. We'll see if Rick Perry's campaign will continue to employ Mr. Johnson or whether his stupid comment (Children's lives in danger because of a female president? Really, Jamie?) will lead to his suddenly acquiring a lot of free time.

And at the end of the article he contradicts himself (says Thatcher did a better job than a man could do) so why the fuck should I care what he says? Obviously he can lie about what god wants and then contradict his lie, so that makes him completely unreliable imo.

I wonder if his followers ever notice he lies and lies and lies? Probably pathological for him by now. Probably a big fan of Alex Jones.

They did pretty well in fact, as I recall.

Somehow god didn't see fit to strike Israel when Golda Meir was prime minister, either. Or the UK under Thatcher. Or Germany under Merkel. Even Pakistan and Bangladesh (which are, in case anyone needs to be reminded, MUSLIM countries) have had female prime ministers. That this is still a thing for some Americans in this day and age is just depressing.
