Jury convicts grandmother of capital murder in child's death

http://www.katv.com/story/28577077/jury-convicts-grandmother-of-capital-murder-in-childs-death

"GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) - An Alabama jury convicted a woman of capital murder in the running death of her 9-year-old granddaughter on Friday, rejecting claims that she didn't mean to harm the girl while she was punishing the child for a lie.

Joyce Hardin Garrard faces a penalty of death or life without parole for the February 2012 death of Savannah Hardin.

Garrard showed no reaction when the verdict was read, but she hugged her three attorneys before being led out of court by deputies. She glared toward the audience as she walked out silently."

I am against the death penalty. I have a feeling that life in prison will be hell for this one.

Still, life in prison for this miserable wretch is appropriate.

I doubt the outcome was. She just seems like a hateful person that has no regard for the consequences of her actions.

It really could go either way. Child killers push everyone's buttons and not in a good way.
