20-30-40 years from now...

Selma, Glory Road, W, Cesar Chavez, 42 (Jackie Robinson), JFK, Get on Up aka "James Brown", Nixon, the Doors, Malcolm X, Hoffa, The Express (also known as The Express: The Ernie Davis Story), etc. have had their stories told in the last 10-12.

The politicians, entertainers, sports, the individuals that shape recent, current, and soon to be events.

The Dixie Chicks come to my mind for taking an unpopular stand with their fan base.

Who else might might have their story told on the big screen down the road?

Who else belongs on the already made list at the top?

OS

Since he did very little of consequence, the movie would be quite short so it wouldn't cost much to make.

Yes, I know, he did work on voting rights.

someone should do one about the political and economic leadership of the past few decades called something like "As Rome Burns" or "Rearranging the Deck Chairs" about the signal failure of anyone in power to seriously address the issue of climate change before it was too late. They can include things like Bush I telling the Kyoto Conference "the American way of life is non-negotiable", Bush II talking about drilling in ANWR, and Obama talking about fracking as "building a bridge to energy independence".

...and since I met him several times in the 80s, and hung out with him, I could play myself in the movie.

Jack Herer, of course, is the now departed author of the cannabis bible, The Emperor Wears No Clothes.

The Barry Bonds Story... Certainly steroids was major news, and the fact that he did what he did, (despite the steroids) could launch a movie.. who knows.

Thirtyeen Days.

In October, 1962, U-2 surveillance photos reveal that the Soviet Union is placing nuclear weapons in Cuba. These weapons could wipe out most of the Eastern United States in minutes. President Kennedy is determined to show that he is strong enough to stand up to the threat, and the Pentagon advises military strikes against Cuba, followed by an invasion. But Kennedy wants to avoid a chain reaction that will lead to a nuclear war. As assembly of the missiles in Cuba nears completion, consultations at the White House reach a fever pitch, resulting in the controversial decision to enforce a naval blockade of the island.
