Dead Kids Found in Detroit Mom’s Freezer

The bodies of a 14-year-old girl and her 10-year-old brother were discovered inside a freezer in a Detroit apartment this week, according to police. The children’s bodies had been inside the appliance for more than a year, while their mother continued to live in the apartment with her other children. “She was living there with her other children while the two bodies were in the freezer,” Detroit Police Assistant Chief Steve Dolunt told The Detroit News. “This is a terrible situation.” The mother has been taken into custody for questioning but is not yet a suspect.

1. I am not suggesting this is what happened to these children but we started taking the doors off of

old freezers that were no longer in use because a child in our neighborhood crawled into a freezer when he was playing hide and seek. He died in there. Since then we have been using upright freezers.

It used to be a common hazard.
