Bill Clinton cracks top 10 in rankings of presidents; Obama sits 18th (poll)

http://www.cleveland.com/nation/index.ssf/2015/02/bill_clinton_cracks_top_10_on.html

Bill Clinton was impeached during his second term but enjoyed favorable approval ratings (66 percent) when he left office in January 2001.
Clinton's popularity has improved since he left office and it apparently has paid off with political scientists as well as he was ranked the eighth greatest president in U.S. history in a survey of 162 members of the American Political Science Association.
It is the first time Clinton has cracked the top 10 in a poll. In 2010 he finished 13th and 2011 he was 19th in two other surveys, reports Yahoo! News.
Another first-timer in the top 10 is Dwight Eisenhower, who was ranked seventh...
No. 1 was Abraham Lincoln, followed by George Washington and Franklin D. Roosevelt. The rest of the top 10 are Teddy Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson, Harry S. Truman, Eisenhower, Clinton, Andrew Jackson and Woodrow Wilson.

1. "162 members of the American Political Science Association" constitute the group polled.

So, I don't know what value it really has.

To add some systematic evidence to the perennial conversation, in 2014 we surveyed 162 members of the American Political Science Association’s Presidents & Executive Politics section and asked them to rate the U.S. presidents. Here is what we found.

glad reagan is not on there. i said before that with time and those who voted for him dying off his popularity would go down. his personality would not be appealing to people today.

I'm not saying he didn't make mistakes, or that I even agree with all of his policies, but he did a good job overall. Why can't people here see that!? I was born in 1979 and I can safely say he is the best president of my lifetime.

Is it because he's a moderate? Moderate or not, he did a damn good job, even with his flaws and bad policy decisions.

What is ironic is posters are suggesting the American Political Science Association is a conservative organization. I did post grad work in Poli Sci and I would say out my eighteen or so professors, two were garden variety conservatives, twelve were garden variety liberals and four were Marxists.

One of my conservative professors in grad school was Thomas R. Dye whose textbook, "The Irony Of Democracy" is still one of the most widely used textbooks in introductory political science courses.
