Gov. Mike Pence to sign ‘religious freedom’ bill Thursday (in private!)

Gov. Mike Pence to sign ‘religious freedom’ bill Thursday

Gov. Mike Pence plans to sign controversial "religious freedom" legislation in a private ceremony Thursday.

Spokeswoman Kara Brooks said a specific time has not been set. The ceremony will be closed to the press and the public, she said.

The measure could allow business owners to refuse services to same-sex couples and has set off a firestorm of controversy.

Pence has been under intense pressure from opponents since the Republican-controlled Indiana General Assembly approved the measure on Tuesday.

-Why a "private" ceremony? Now he's afraid to face the public as he signs this awful bill? Hide your face like a coward!
I am sooo angry about this bill. I cannot believe the state I live in is stooping to this level. The REPUBLICAN Indianapolis mayor is publicly denouncing this bill. This bill makes me want to open a store and openly sell only to non-Christians (and I identify as Christian). If I could pack up and move, I would.

It's almost like Pence is trying to outdo Cruz. Oh, wait a minute. He is, because he wants to run for President, too. Aarrgghh! I need some Advil.

BTW any business that wants to discriminate against "the gays" better not have anybody
associated w/that business drive on highways, get water from a public source, get treated
for cancer using drugs tested by the FDA, or get info about the weather from one of our
weather satellites.

is that 'religion' was used to defend slavery, segregation, etc.

Now they are using it to discriminate against a different group. May as well be all groups.

What I don't get is that they are so worried about being able to choose who they can serve in their business. I guess the don't like making money. I really don't get it.

Guess that's why I'm a liberal.

When GM needed workers. I knew and worked with a lot of them. All of GM is gone in this area now, and the good jobs with it, but you know - unions are bad.

But the fact that Pence is signing in private without disclosing time and place is keeping us from going to a protest. Coward.

I'm on Spring Break, I have the time - don't know where or when.

"beliefs" should be able to do so, as long as they put a sign on their window, and on their website/facebook page, etc. which clearly states which kinds of people they will not serve.

Then the market will sort itself out.
