Pence and his herd are responsible IMO in helping reinforce for some what they want to have, a horrific institution filled with Bigotry and Persecution of others, telling them their Bigotry and Persecution are wholly acceptable. IMO, Pence is unfit for office. Too bad those that vote for him can't comprehend this, but then apparently, it's what they want. IMO, Pence is a POS. Even many many religious people are fed up with him and this Bigot Law.

I expect the RW crazy will continue for quite some time at the state and federal levels since they have gained so many seats.

Other signs of RW madness include George Will now spinning inequality as a good thing and others in the media (like Richard Quest on CNN) celebrating the growing number of billionaires as a good thing we should all apparently aspire to.

I also find it interesting that you assume all small businesses in the mid west want to discriminate more than anything and that they are willing to fight for that right. I don't think that's the case at all. I think most of America finds this sort of thing to be repellent in a 'this is why we fought the Nazis' sort of way.
So listen up pal. If these small business owners want to fight, let them stand up and mean it. Why are you running interference for these brave, oh so ready for the fight people you imagine? Where are they?
In my experience what small businesses want is to make money, more money and then also make some money. Yet you think they want to fight for the right to alienate untold numbers of customers? I sure as fuck don't.

Results of your Jury Service

On Fri Mar 27, 2015, 07:01 PM an alert was sent on the following post:

Then you're misreading the United States. Not everywhere is New York or San Francisco
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=6423971

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

3rd time poster has used this rightwing trope to defend bigotry.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Fri Mar 27, 2015, 07:08 PM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I don't think this post violates TOS.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: The post is admittedly really dumb, but there's nothing in terms of service that disallows people from saying dumb things. The dumb shines thru much more so than right wing trope.
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: gibberish but I would leave it
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Meh, let it stand. Bluenorthwest and others are doing a good job of countering nonsense from The Defender of the Heartland and All That is Good and Pure.

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

"Going after small business"? Could you be any more out of touch with reality? Indianapolis claims to be an "international city" so they at least pretend to want to keep up with the rest of the world...until now.

because I drive a lot and, apparently, hate myself just a little.

As far as I can tell--they equate LGBT folks' desires to NOT be discriminated AGAINST, to their right to do the discriminating.

Really- I think they mean it.

It is simply us vs. them.

Yeah--they want their rights, but what about ours?

Plus-add to it that suppression of christian ways is here now, and full-scale persecution in this country is just around the corner(they hear the hob-nailed feet of oppressive big government-real rhetoric, by the way!) and-well-that's the end!

It is pure batshit crazy fucknuttery--but I think they believe it.

The actual majority feeling like a victimized minority is dangerous!

The thing is--they KNOW they are right!

I heard this today regarding gay marriage before the supreme court----"either god is right, or he is wrong." And you can bet your best fiddle that he is right!

They have a certainty that boggles the mind. They have more certainty about things for which there is no evidence than I have for those things for which there are mounding heaps of it.

It is this certainty which leads to so much arrogance and the dismissal of the rights of others. When you know you are right, then . . .
