These people are REALLY ready for Warren

Des Moines, Iowa (CNN)Ground zero for the grassroots effort here to persuade Elizabeth Warren to run for president is headquartered in a small office park where a yard sign taped to a door is the only marker of the activity inside.

One recent weekday afternoon, about 20 volunteers gathered to strategize about how to convince their friends and neighbors -- and most importantly the Massachusetts senator -- that she needs to run for the Democratic presidential nomination.

"They say who's Warren?" retiree Gordon Rowe said about the reaction he receives when he talks up the Massachusetts senator. "They don't know who Elizabeth Warren is. I tell them they need to get involved, they are middle class too and they need representation."

It is the term "middle class" that is repeated time and time again when talking to Warren supporters: she understands the middle class, she represents the middle class, she will help rebuild the middle class. The belief that Warren is fighting for them on issues such as income inequality and regulating Wall Street is the driving force behind their effort to try and draft her into the race -- even though she repeatedly has dismissed it.

And there you have it in a nutshell. People in MA know who she is. People in NH know who she is. People on DU know who she is People in most other places have no idea.

So, this Warren supporter answers the question by scolding people for not being involved. He'd do better to tell them who she is, what her positions are, and why they should support her.

Saying, "You're stupid if you don't know who Warren is" will not convert people to supporting her. It simply will not. They already know who Hillary Clinton is, and that's why she's leading in the polls about primary sentiments. Overcoming that is going to be a real challenge, and it sounds like her support organization isn't doing a great job.

6. I didn't read it that way at all

The reason why Biden & Hillary lead in the polls is because people know who they are. All I read was encouraging middle class voters to get involved since it pertains to them. Some like Warren or anyone else just needs to get their name out there, get people to know them, etc will help them.

7. Why not O'Malley or Sanders?

The hang up on someone who very clearly has no interest in running while other equally liberal candidates are running is weird.

8. Quite frankly, I get most my information about Warren from DU...

And it's really putting me off...I know we can't say cult...but the support is more than enthusiasm...there is a real aversion for her die-hard supporters to understand that not everyone thinks she'd be a great candidate...remember, she ran for the senate basically because she got pushed out of the Obama white house...doesn't give one much faith that she can hold her ground.
