Palin Raised Taxes (a lot) on the Oil Corporations,
used that money to balance the budget, repaid schools and infrastructure,
and mail a check to every Alaskan for several thousand dollars.
(Of course, this was "forgotten" during the campaign, and the Democrats were too polite to bring it up).

You remember how she crowed about "Balancing the Budget"?
Well, Raising Corporate Taxes is HOW she did it.

..is WHY the Democrats passed on the opportunity to brand Palin a Corporate Tax Raiser.
Palin was the most Socialist Governor to run for president in a long time,
and not a single Democrat had the (balls) to mention that in public.

Pointing out that she had actually raised taxes on the wealthy to directly pay the middle class might have turned off a few conservative voters, but it would have made her more appealing to liberals.

It would have been a gamble I'd guess. If she hadn't been such a rookie on the national scene and had some good solid 'image consultants' she probably would have been a force to reckon with, as it is now she just seems bat-shit crazy.

She'd be a good third party candidate, she'd split the republican vote.

She did some good things while she was governor, working with the Democrats in our legislature. The traditional Republicans here couldn't stand her. Putting her out on the national stage seemed to flip some kind of crazy switch in her brain.
