But some states give it and some municipalities. Probably depends on whether or not they had a significant Catholic population at one time.

Earlier than businesses closed. It is voluntary in most areas.

I've actually never had it off before, but I work for a UK company, and apparently all of Europe is on holiday this Friday also.

but the kids are off. They (my company, not the State) give us 4 floating holday days that we can use if we want Good Friday.

I've got stuff to ship down to Michigan, but Friday is a stat holiday in Canada.

I may have to send it Thursday now, instead. Would have been easier to push it out until Monday if Friday was a holiday in Michigan too.
