I find watching him endlessly fascinating.
He is like the love child of Donald Trump and Ricky Gervais.
As with other clueless people, he has no clue. But he does have this determined drive to push on, despite all feedback from an audience that he is failing big time.
His campaign, no matter how short, deserves to put forth as an Oscar contention, in the "Best Doc. based on real weird life"
or something.
Is it only me that sees him as a live art piece

(50,567 posts)PCC makes Liberty University look like it's run by atheists.
Oh, I have to tell you: When Reagan was still in office, six MI soldiers stationed at Field Station Augsburg, Germany, who had formed their own religious cult, decided the Antichrist would appear on the beach at Pensacola, Florida on a date certain. They also decided they had to stop him. Fortunately they all had passports (most soldiers deploy overseas with their military ID cards). So...all six of them went "Knowledgeable AWOL*," flew back to the US, got a car somehow, and started driving to P'cola. About a hundred miles from their meeting with the Antichrist, the Florida state police stopped them for a traffic infraction, ran their licenses...it's not just anyone who makes the front page of Stars and Lies, but these jokers were more than up to the task.
* "Knowledgeable AWOL," or KAWOL, is their name for someone with a security clearance going over the hill. And believe you me, a KAWOL is a grade-A pain in the ass because you gotta investigate the hell out of them to be sure they didn't take any secrets with them when they left.

(60,010 posts)and I had the greatest admiration for Stewart's self control, cause Rubio had a message and would not/could not be spontaneous about anything.
Plus he still had his deer in the headlights look.
SOOO entertaining to watch.

(42,770 posts)He is a fucking liar. Said his parents escaped Castro - BEFORE he was even in power. I am sure he would love to have this lie forgotten - we need to bring it up OFTEN and EVERYWHERE

(42,769 posts)He will certainly lose a run for Prez or Veep and he will not be able to run for
the Senate again. Of course, he may have cooked up a deal with Rick Scott for
an appointment to the Florida Supreme Court.

(53,086 posts)My prayers don't involve any of these characters. He or any other of these Republican candidates could well become president. Do you not remember how people said the same thing when Reagan ran for office? How can you write something like that? Damn. If he's elected I'm going to hold you responsible for jinxing the country.

(11,175 posts)All we can realistically pray for -- or hope for, for those of us who aren't religious -- is that the campaign will decrease the eventual nominee's chance of winning the general election.
One obvious way is that it produces a weak nominee. My guess is that Rubio would have less chance of winning than would, say, Walker or Jeb (or, my dark-horse worry, Kasich).
You're right about the Reagan analogy, though. Rubio gets the nomination, mobilizes a big Hispanic vote, and wins the general election, and I'm left wishing that one of the Anglo candidates had won after all. That might happen. This far out, there's no way to be sure which leading Republican prospect would be the strongest in November, and which the weakest.
