He was great in Parks and Rec and so were his lines.

Watching early episodes of West Wing on Netflix recently, I realized he also had a role on one of them.

I did not realize he is Megan Mullally's husband. Wish I had known that when I was watching Parks and Rec. I would have laughed harder at their scenes together.

I saw a little part of what I guess is his stand-up act, he was playing a guitar and was singing hilarious little songs.

Nick Offerman is the actor who plays him.

One of the biggest liberals in Hollywood was Caroll O'Connor, who played the most bigoted character ever seen on TV, Archie Bunker.

Offerman has sort of fashioned a public persona as being Ron Swanson-like, but he sure as hell is no bigot.

Asking about what an actor puts into his character? I think Offerman knows the Swanson type pretty well. He also knows there's a fine line between making him a total asshole and a character who is ultimately a stand up guy.
