The honest to God truth is that the religious right and the GOP want to eliminate LGBT from the US altogether. The very people who claim FEMA camps are the ones most likely to have them. The Indiana flap is just a minor skirmish compared to what they would really do. And you can probably add nonbelievers to the mix as well.
The question is what are the rest of us going to do about the situation. It is obvious that these bigots are going to do whatever it takes to get their way. Their response in Indiana and Arkansas is FU. STFU. And there are more of the same laws pending. You can go to court but it is rigged so badly.
They will tear this country to shreds to win. And I believe that have a political scorched earth agenda. We are not talking about any real issues instead we are fighting these fires and they are winning at the state level because so many fundy nuts have infiltrated the system.
The LGBT issue is bad enough the war on women's rights is intensifying as well. Hillary is no guarantee to win and few other Dems can raise enough money from the way the landscape looks. Hillary was right about the right wing conspiracy and we are seeing this spreading cancer grown by the day or so it seems.
The latest response from Indiana is complete defiance and FU. We are persecuting them. And critics are lying.

He had no idea (although he should've seen it coming) that there'd be a substantial backlash.

I don't think they will win this one.

(52,205 posts)just as they don't really want abortion outlawed. the issue is way too lucrative for them to actually win and be done with it.
