Acceptance? Who made me the doyen of what is "normal and what is "not normal" and gave me the right to "accept" what i classify as not normal?
We need a new word for this. How about "what the hell was I thinking"? It's long, but I think it captures the truth of the matter. Alternatively, "How could I be so stupid for so long?!?!"

Acceptance is admitting to the same beliefs/values. Acceptance is easy, too easy; there's no real virtue in accepting those who agree with you.

Who are we to tolerate instead of accept others.
Think Mitt Romney. Who are we to merely tolerate another human being?
Yeah, this kind of attitude breaks down really, really quickly. We sit in judgment of more kinds of opinions than Baskin Robbins can conceive of. But ask that our opinions not only be tolerated, but at least accepted as equal. Even though we, obviously, don't reciprocate, because we know *our* opinions are superior.
It's merely a veiled way of saying, "Everybody should think like us because we're so right." (Now that we've gotten that little humility nonsense out of the way, let's continue on to our much deserved apotheosis.)
