http://www.azcentral.com/story/news/arizona/politics/2015/04/08/arizona-gay-couple-refused-adoption-help/25491619/?fb_ref=DefaultSame-sex couples have the right to marry in Arizona, and the courts allow them to adopt children as couples.
But the Maricopa County Attorney's Office will not extend its adoption-assistance services to them, as one couple discovered in a Facebook confrontation with County Attorney Bill Montgomery.
Lenora and Leticia Reyes-Petroff, both 34, married in California in 2013. In early 2014, Leticia gave birth to a child, conceived through artificial insemination.
But since Arizona, like many states, did not recognize same-sex marriages, and since state adoption law stated that only a husband and wife could jointly adopt a child, Lenora could not legally be considered a parent to their son.

Leticia and Lenora are good friends of mine - Lenora posted her frustration on facebook. I was able to put Lenora in touch with a friend that works at the AZ Republic, who immediately jumped on the story, which made the FRONT PAGE of Arizona's main newspaper. Also, was on Channel 12 News - video at link as well.

about getting herself, and her daughter, an attorney.....
Specifically, I am suggesting there is a unique case here.....this CHILD is being treated differently than other children. Montgomery won't be able to fight that.
