Death for him would be quick. No long decades in jail. No anguish over what may have been. A few needle sticks, maybe some pain, and then its over.
Life for him would be pure and unrelenting agony. He could easily spend in the range of 60 years locked 23 hours a day in a cell without natural light. With no chance of parole, rehabilitation is a non issue.
It seems to me, given these two options, death is the easier sentence for him.
I find the SuperMax routine to be cruel and unusual punishment that borders on torture. I am opposed to the death penalty.
I am not, however, opposed to suicide. I don't wish it on anyone, but I can understand it. Maybe a solution in these sorts of cases is always life without parole, but with the option to be put to death at the prisoner's request.
We are imperfect. This is an example.

I am opposed to the death penalty, and I think super max is cruel and unusual; however, I am not opposed to an uncomfortable life (meaning no amenities) being warehoused in a prison, just waiting for a natural death.
He needs to spend the rest of his life in prison, and we don't need to waste any time, money, or other resources on rehabilitation, since he will never again be a free person.

I never got a good reason why they allowed these nutters in the country in the first place.
As to the op's question, I say let him rot.
