are just scared like the rest of us and see that we've screwed over the planet and ourselves, and our days are numbered.
Instead of seeing it through a scientific prism, they are seeing it through myth, mystery, ignorance - a reptilian mindset.
This is why they are flocking to religion - "clinging to their guns and religion". Sort of like a blankie, a safety blankie, a teddy bear.

Jerry Falwell credits his famous father for laying a solid academic foundation for Liberty University's extraordinary growth, and it's a formula he's followed and built on as president of the evangelical Christian university.
The younger Falwell has assiduously focused on Liberty as it has swelled to the largest university in Virginia, fueled primarily by distance learners. He has kept Liberty an essential stop for conservative Republicans with White House aspirations while keeping out of the spotlight.

"That's not my thing," the soft-spoken Falwell said in an interview in his office. He was seated at the end of a long conference table in a 1-million-square-foot former cellphone factory donated to Liberty by the conservative Christian family that owns the Hobby Lobby.

It's a global movement of conservativeness - fear that breeds hatred and exclusivity.
Progressives AROUND THE WORLD of EVERY faith and creed need to join hands in tolerance, peace, and love against these agressors and beat them back into submission.
Never gonna happen, I'm afraid. The tipping point of power and money has been reached.

(24,760 posts)I guess that's what they're thinking. I'll just be "left behind" here with my puppies, horses, and family. I think I would prefer that, rather than go anywhere with the likes of them!
