I don't think this would have happened right now without his leadership on this issue!

Let's remember, DADT is now gone. The military members are going to want to get married (and are getting married)...with that comes things like: health care; housing; dependent allowance; travel orders; travel pay...This will require states to accept and recognize the marriage. Maybe I'm reading too much into everything, but I have been telling this to my hubby for a while now. He agrees with me-he's in the Army, that's the only reason I mention him.

It's hard to see how that happens in the next 4 years or even in the next decade for that matter. Gays in states that have it are going to have to sue the states that don't when they don't recognize their unions. This is going to have to go to the SCOTUS just like Brown v. Board.

The republicans will be left out on this one.

I think polls are showing that people are not afraid of equality.

The republicans are really out of touch with the young voter on this. They hardly care at all about who marries whom.

No bigoted hate speech. - This includes "opposition to full equal rights for gays and lesbians"

We're all glad he finally came around, but it's interesting we nail losers like Kirk KKK Kameron for opposing full equal rights for gays and lesbians and yet the President gets a thank-you petition for finally taking a stance that any reasonable human being has held for decades...
