It has been 31,041.8 minutes and counting
Since Hillary Clinton has answered a question from the press
Last question answered: April 21, 2015, 3 p.m. (or so). Question and response on "Clinton Cash" book reported by WMUR in New Hampshire.
We will, of course, update this post -- and the timer -- in the event that Candidate Clinton answers another question. Fingers crossed!

The same people here whining about her not talking to Chuck Todd or Chris Wallace are the same people who reflexively criticize and dismiss anything she says anyways.
They are mad because she is not giving them ammunition and fodder for more attacks. Not one of them actually cares what she has to say, only about how they can use it against her.
She knows that.

As for the email nontroversy, as you put it, it only had a small negative outcome, but as you said, it's it's way early. I hope it continues to be a non-issue, and it won't be during primary season, but it's foolish to believe that it doesn't have the potential to be damaging in the general, and sometimes drip, drip, drip in and of itself can be damaging.
Also, the tedious email thing isn't over:

Not exactly sure how 'bizarre' accelerated to 'so terrible' but having declared one's candidacy for the highest office in the land implies opening oneself up for scrunity. This isn't a beauty pageant. Any reporter worth their salt has questions for the candidates. So, yes, ducking questions from the press is odd particularly in light of the fact that her declared challenger is so open and forthright with the press. In comparison, she appears timid, unprepared, and not ready for prime time.

(36,988 posts)Thom Hartmann's weekly town hall meeting with US Senator Bernie Sanders
From C-SPAN's Q&A, Brian Lamb asks Thom Hartmann why he gives an hour to Sen. Bernie Sanders every week on his radio show and why does Sen. Sanders agree to do it. Hartmann explains that he's willing to put Sen. Sanders on because he's one of the only politicians out there willing to take unscreened questions and answer them honestly. He feels Sanders does it because he actually cares about representing the voters in his state and truly believes in his message.
Isn't it amazing that somehow a dirty stinking hippie self-proclaimed Democratic Socialist can manage to win redder than red parts of his state with the W signs formerly posted all over it as Hartmann noted that Bernie somehow managed to do? Gee, I wonder what the Democrats could learn from this if they decided to quit trying to either act like or appease Republicans?
If you want to watch the rest of this hour it is available at C-SPAN's web site

And Bernie is actually renowned for sitting down and having discussions with UNSCREENED regular people. I've been at several pot luck dinner meetings and town halls with him. If there's one thing Bernie does on a scale that no one in Congress can match, it's retail politics. Has he done this on the campaign trail since he announced? Yes, he has.

(32,139 posts)Oligarchy needs no statement of agendas. Oligarchy needs no political process where candidates must speak to or are accountable to voters.
Oligarch politicians are there for the faux-democracy show, not to actually communicate with voters. Talking about the agenda is only a nuisance because it riles up the proles.

(36,988 posts)It has been a month, and the candidate has answered just 13 reporter questions (at least that we've been able to find, building on the work of National Journal). And you can quibble about whether some of the answers were really answers.
1 "You lost Iowa in 2008. How do you win this time? What's your strategy?" Welker asked.
Clinton's reply, as she walked toward an open van door: "I'm having a great time. Can't look forward any more than I am."
Campaign finance plan
A pair of Washington Post reporters spotted her outside of an unannounced event and asked about campaign finance reform. The answers weren't substantive.
According to the Post, she said "We do have a plan. We have a plan for my plan."

(20,317 posts)lol, right.
I thought it was fairly clear that what I said was my personal opinion, based on my view of Clinton's support as being a mile wide and an inch deep. He record as a centrist means she can't credibly run to the left, and the people she'll depend on (conservative Democrats and moderate Republicans), would be easily lured by a moderate Republican-- someone like Jon Huntsman, for instance.
Also, you never requested data in your initial response (nice edit, by the way), so I don't know where that 'patiently waiting' crap is coming from.
DemocratSinceBirth
(99,711 posts)You went from arguing that if:
to you arguing that a candidate who was trounced in the 2012 Republican primaries and isn't even running or is just like him:
""... someone like Jon Huntsman , for instance."
can trounce Hillary.
Which is it?
Is it any Republican but Ted Cruz can beat Hillary as you originally suggested or just Jon Huntsman or his ideological twin:
P.S. If you want I will name at least seven major issues, maybe more, where HRC will be diametrically opposed to and to the left of Republican opponent.

The Republican 2016 presidential nominee will not get to Hillary's left on
-choice
-marriage equality
-paid leave
-raising the minimum wage
-protecting and expanding the Affordable Care Act
-opposing turning Medicare into a voucher program
-opposing turning Medicaid and Food Stamps into block grant programs
-immigration reform
-opposing raising the minimum age to receive Social Security.
-negotiating with Iran
I say that with one hundred percent confidence because no such Republican exists, at least not one who is running for president.
