At the top of the list, is the love and commitment to his family.

A beautiful man that has had so much love and so much tragedy.

Rest in Peace Beau Biden.

Between the Kennedys and the Bidens - more tragedies than most of us could bear. This is just too sad.

Very lovable and human and authentic. He always has been. You kinda can't NOT love him, deep down. I feel so sad to think what the Biden family is going through at the moment. NO parent wants to face this. Not ever.

They've been through so much.

I hope Hunter's OK.

'As far as politics went, well, Jill did not want to be a public person. I didn’t stop asking, but the more I pushed, the more she resisted… Jill says I must have asked her to marry me five more times, and she kept saying she needed more time. I was as patient as I knew how to be. But in 1977, as I prepared to leave on a ten-day trip to South Africa, I finally broke: ‘Look,’ I told her, ‘I’ve waited long enough. I’m not going to wait any longer. Either you decide to marry me or that’s it. I’m out. I’m too much in love with you to just be friends.’ I told her to think about it while I was gone.

“The ten days in Africa felt like forever. I had gotten through worse, but I knew that if Jill said no, it was going to hurt like hell. I had even decided to make her a deal: If she agreed to marry me, I wouldn’t run for the Senate.
“When I got back from Africa, Jill said she couldn’t give me up. If it was marriage or end it, she was ready for marriage. I assured her I’d leave the Senate if she wanted me to. I was up for reelection in 1978, and now was the time to make a decision. We were sitting in the library at The Station one day when she said I wasn’t serious about giving up the Senate: ‘You don’t mean that.’

Biden says he’ll give up the Senate if Jill will marry him; when Biden calls to tell a reporter the news, Jill stops him — “Don’t do that.”'

Anyone with a heart should feel it breaking over the loss of Beau Biden. How sad for Joe to have to endure the loss of his son, after all the other tragic events he's had in his life. My deepest sympathy to Joe, Jill, Hunter, and to Beau's wife Hallie, and children in their time of tremendous loss. May the haters refrain from hating for a while, and show some common decency and respect to our Vice President at this achingly sad moment in his life. Bless the Biden family.

love and support from me to all of the bidens. i know what it is to loose a spouse at a young age (widowed at 25) and to loose a second spouse before his time (he was 47). but to loose 2 children or for young children to loose a parent too soon - it can only be even more heart breaking. overwhelming sadness, i imagine.
