He hasn't faced a coup attempt, and - as far as we know - there have been no attempts on his life (much less successful ones.) T. Roosevelt got a sucking chest wound for campaigning. Buchanan got a congress so divided and literally violent that it led to the Civil War. Clinton faced impeachment for an extramarital affair, and there are voters today who were literally raised from birth to see Bil land Hillary as the hands of Satan.

The rhetoric's been ugly and the congress has been more than frustrating. But yeah, Obama's hardly facing "the worst."

No, sheshe2. I'm saying that ugly rhetoric directed at him, vile as it is, really does not contend for a historical "worst." Presidents have been murdered - like, really killed. others have faced attempted murder. A war was fought in great part because of a president taking office - not a figurative war, but a literal, artillery-and-bayonets war. it almost happened a second time , with a coup attempt that failed in FDR's administration.

Obama's had to put up with a lot, no lie. But to place him at the pinnacle of presidential hardship just isn't factual.
