I never do this but today I'm making an exception...

I am just letting you know that I am putting up an art essay on a wonderful and rightly famous painting and if you are interested or want a break in all the DU angst and the tears we are still shedding over Beau Biden's death...stop by and take in the images and the art's power to move you and make you think deeply about that power. We will all get through this. Somehow.

only beautiful but interesting and sometimes rarely seen artworks. For me they are kind of like an educational oasis for the mind. And much appreciated. Thank you.

Just drove back to the cottage from a day/night away, and fortunately the Bruch violin concerto was on the radio during the trip. I did think of Beau and Joe. Also thinking of Hunter, and hope he's ok.

My daughter wrote about this today, and it has gotten to her deeply because she's a 'new' mother, my grandson will be 2 in December, so she's feeling it as we parents do.

It was an astonishing experience. I felt as if I had been lifted out of my seat in the auditorium. When the work was over, the audience erupted in cheers and "bravos" -- a transporting moment...but of course, you must have felt that way during performance...I an only imagine what you must feel, being able to "do" art when I can only write about it...

But for now....

Maybe I will try later to say something about the experience of playing music, my experience, anyway.
But for now.. no not sell yourself short.

You DO art.

Nor should you.

You make DU a much brighter place by your illumination -- I invite all interpretations of that sentence, since all are undoubtedly true.

I will be looking for your post, anxiously.

As always.
