Al Jazeera TV had short story on this couple days ago. Showed picture of multiple scrapes & abrasions on one female player caused by artificial turf. Men all get grass fields.

I thought it had been reasonably demonstrated after 40+ years that grass is healthier than artificial turf.

any sport that requires cleats, (soccer, American football, baseball) players who play on grass have less knee injuries than artificial turf. Grass will give way easier than AT.

on edit: I think I remember reading a few years ago that those playing on grass are a little more susceptible to groin pulls, but those aren't as bad as blown out knees.
