Now the big question: Where do attendees go to eat after watching the kickass speech?

Answer: You're in freakin' New York. There's a decent place to eat on every corner. The food carts aren't bad either.

However, I recommend the Beer Garden at Bohemian Hall at 29-19 24th Avenue in Astoria. Great ethnic food of all kinds in Astoria. My bartender used to say the reason the neighborhood is so peaceful is that everyone's in a minority. Irish 2%, Greeks 4%, Egyptians 3% etc. Insane place to look for world cuisine.

Stuck in rural middle America I baked pizza during the speech.

Where are you going to eat?

Someone (may she RIP) recommended it a long time ago and it created a big firestorm here.... many moons ago.

That is why I included the smilies.

Rose of India is one of my favs but they're all good. And you get to listen to live sitar music. If you know about 6th street then you must be very familiar with NYC. There's also a Peruvian restaurant on the corner with amazing paella.

Really good Dominican and Cuban food uptown. Filipino and south Asian food in Jackson Heights. Nutso Middle Eastern food in Brooklyn. Every kind of Far Eastern food in Flushing.

I'm putting on pounds just reminiscing.

Regionalism creeping in.

That's what the powerful want: keeping us divided by our love for the local sports franchise.

Today, I love even opposing hockey fans. Nice day.

Jun 2015

First night Barkley picked up the check for he and twenty of his guests. The next night, the coaches old friend Vince Vaughn pulled a quick one and bought dinner for he and twenty of his guests.

It kind of stems from the Lightning's office and how they dealt with their tickets. Kind of a snub to the Lightning management in a fun way. Both Barkley and Vaughn understand though. We really do have to do certain things in our market to build unity and a fan base. As Phil Esposito said, the difficulty in getting professional hockey to grow in Tampa is a lot different than many other places. The first thing they had to do was teach us the rules. lol. There was a lot of truth to that comment. Paraphrasing his comments.

I thought the Hawks were doomed when that bizarre shot hit net in the second period of the first game.

Great time to be sitting with a Chicago crowd (of firefighters) during that final period.

Go game! If it keeps up like this we'll all have fun.

You make your own Blue Cheese dressing? My fave, if it's fresh.
