Anybody else find it odd that Roof was arrested without incident?

This is a known mass murder, a terrorist, armed and dangerous.

He's arrested without a mark on him.

Ditto for Timothy McVeigh, Mark Chapman, John Hinckley Jr., the Unabomber, BTK, and Ted Bundy.

Meanwhile we've seen what happens to unarmed blacks: Tamir Rice, Michael Brown, Walter Scott, Freddy Gray, Eric Garner, John Crawford, Icarus Randolph, Ezell Ford, Dante Parker . . .

then the policeman saw his weapon.

http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-oklahoma-city-bombing-20150419-story.html#page=1

As McVeigh reached into his rear pocket for his driver's license, his windbreaker tightened, and Hanger noticed the bulge of a shoulder holster under his left arm. McVeigh was wearing a loaded Glock pistol and had a 6-inch knife on his belt.

"My gun is loaded," Hanger recalled McVeigh telling him as Hanger grabbed the bulge under the jacket.

"So is mine," the trooper responded, putting his own gun to McVeigh's head before arresting him for unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon. If he hadn't spotted the bulge, he would have let McVeigh go with a ticket.

with Ethiopians and Somalis being defined as "Caucasian". Most S. Asians were also considered "Caucasian," but I'm not sure that most consider M. Ghandi as white as the driven snow. It was based on the S. Caucasus, anyway, Georgians and Azeris. Dear Dzhohar was a northerner.

Of course, we'll ignore the fact that Azeri and Turkish and the bearers are these languages are close cousins. Turks, of course, were not Caucasians. Nor were Hungarians. I guess Hungarians are people of color but Asian Indians are white?

It used to mean something different than just "white." The redefinition happened later, and along the way the Caucasians (those who lived in the Caucasus) were taken as inferior examples of Caucasians (which came to mean, with a few other traits involving hair, skull, and nasal fossa, "white&quot . The original Caucasians were assumed to have been driven out and Caucasian speakers supposedly moved in; Urartu, if I remember correctly, was a possible origin for them. The redefinition partially goes back to Bopp and Grimm and some of attempts to locate the Indo-European Urheimat in the Caucasis on the basis of reconstructed meaning and forms for words like "beech" and "salmon"; some of the redefinition occurred later in the 1800s.

Currently N. Caucasians are considered "dark skinned" or "swarthy" and discriminated against by Russians.

The DC snipers Muhammmed and Malvo might be better comparisons than Tamir Rice et al. If you need to claim white privilege in this matter, sobeit. But you're OP is comparing apples and oranges.

I hope he survives to live through the hatred that the nation is going to heap on him. Life in prison. As a pariah. What he deserves.

That traveled all the way from Utah to Texas looking for his ex wife but the woman's family wouldn't tell where she was so he shot up and murdered the whole family including like 5 kids (one of them survived). He was missing for a bit but they finally surrounded him and they brought him in with not one bullet fired.

Yes, there is an enormous difference in how police treat white killers and how they treat black suspects. But this isn't automatically another example of that.
