Kentucky Police Union To Black People: Don’t Call Us Racists, Or You’ll Regret It
http://www.addictinginfo.org/2015/06/21/kentucky-police-union-to-black-people-dont-call-us-racists-or-youll-regret-it-video/Dave Mutchler, president of the River City Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 614 in Louisville, Kentucky, had some words for African-Americans who feel that black lives matter and their allies: We’re not going to take it anymore.
In a two-page letter, Mutchler denounced those who “sensationalize tragedy at every opportunity to forward their political agendas” — like protesters in Ferguson following the murder of Michael Brown, or those who refused to support the chokehold death of Eric Garner in New York, or people who protested the savage killing of Freddie Gray in Baltimore, or any number of other horrific acts of violence against the black community by police.
“Know this: The members of River City FOP Lodge 614, who serve and protect Louisville every day, will no longer stand on the sidelines while anyone continues to assault and demonize us,” Mutchler wrote. He thanked those who blindly support police even in the wake of signs of much-needed reform, like the shooting of 12-year-old Tamir Rice by a Cleveland, Ohio police officer almost on sight simply because the African-American child was holding a toy gun in a state where he was legally allowed to openly carry a real gun anyway.
Mutchler had a message for the “sensationalists, liars and race-baiters” who have the nerve to accurately point out that there is a large issue with Blue-on-Everyone (Especially Blue-on-Black) violence: If you speak out against police, we’ll make sure you regret it!
