Everyone knows that while a trailer-hitch or a ton of assorted roadkill can order a beer, they can''t get married because those items cannot make an informed consent. Now maybe a horse or a dog could be trained to nod in agreement in exchange for a tasty treat, but there would still be no mental comprehension of consent.
