Ever hear about the Horse and Sparrow theory?

Basically, it's the idea that if you feed enough oats to a horse, eventually some of it will pass through for the sparrows to eat.

Sound familiar?

Yeah, this is what "Trickle down" used to be called.

http://www.newmainetimes.org/articles/2012/07/30/horses-and-sparrows-myth-trickle-down-economics/

So, basically, when Republicans are trying to sell 'Trickle down' as good for the middle class, they are actually telling the middle class to eat shit.

1. That only works because the horse keeps it moving on through

That capitalist 0.1% horse has colic and nothing is budging. If they don't get a garden hose enema fairly soon, that horse is gonna die.

The garden hose enema is a tax system that rewards reinvestment and punishes hoarding.

2. yes, passing seeds is how wild horses reseeded the great North Amer. grasslands. But then the Gov.

killed off the wildlife and nothing grows where the cattle wallow.

3. IIRC, that was coined by John Kenneth Galbraith

in the early 1980s. Once again he nailed it.

4. Somewhat different than 'The Story of the Little Sparrow.' It went like this:

A little sparrow was flying south for the winter, but had stayed too long and it was snowing and ice coated his wings.

He finally lands in a snow drift and tries to get out. He can't do it and is still nearly covered in snow. Then a horse comes along, who doesn't see the bird struggling in the snow.

The horse relieves himself and takes a dump on the little sparrow. Who is depressed, bewailing his ignominious fate.

'This is the end!' He says to himself.

But the heat of the manure from the horse begins to melt the snow. The little sparrow is so happy as he is freed from the snow, he sings with joy.

A fox hears him and works to dig him out. The little sparrow exclaims happily.

'I'm saved!' Then the fox eats him.

The Moral of This Story Is:

Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy. Not everyone who digs you out of shit is your friend.
