New York Times: "We Are Koch"

Each of the Koch brothers saw his investments grow by a staggering $6 billion last year, which, if you do the math, means that they each made about $3 million per hour last year, based on a 40-hour workweek.

In other words, as millions of Americans struggle to survive each and every day, the wealthiest Americans, the oligarchs, are accumulating vast sums of wealth, without anyone saying a word, or raising a finger.

1. Precisely what's the problem? This piece...

described the Kochs as trying to change their image. They are trying to change their image. Should the Times have made a value judgement about their conservatism?

The Kochs are conservative, and they are very good at being conservative. A lot better, smarter anyway, than we are at being progressive. And there's little underhanded or criminal about what they are doing. It's just not what we do, and we think it's wrong.

We can complain all we want about the Kochs, but we have to have some better responses than whining about them on message boards.
