I want John Edwards to be found not guilty

I've followed the case closely. There's a lot of reasonable doubt if the jurors follow the instructions. The prosecution did not prove its case.

And then I want the John Edwards to go the fuck away. He's a despicable little sociopath who cared only about his inflated sense of destiny.

They're claiming that Bunny's gifts to him were campaign gifts. But imagine if he had tried to claim the payments-to-my-mistress as campaign donations -- obviously, that would have been illegal.

So the government shouldn't be able to say the payments aren't qualified campaign expenses in one setting, and that they are campaign expenses in another. It makes no sense.

If he wants to make things right go off and really find some charity that really needs help and help them. Maybe in about 5 yrs he could bounce back but not in politics.

He will be the toast of many parties for the rest of his life. Then he will go to his mansion after each party, and sleep and live in lavish comfort. Probably with a young new wife. He will continue to pay child support for his daughter, but will probably not marry Riehl.

This is the way it is with alleged or convicted famous, rich people. Von Bulow, Milkin, Nixon....and look at Clinton after his impeachment.

because she hated his wife anyway.. But I'm not justify what he did. I'm just saying he isn't the only one and why did the prosecutor who is a republican (who by the way refused to leave the job). Had he been a republican you wouldn't have seen this case. This prosecutor also play a role in getting only republicans in the justice department. Obama should have gotten rid of her. He didn't.

chrged, or that he was singled out.

If everyone on the hwy is speeding, but you are the one who gets stopped, it's no defense to your speeding that everyone else was speeding, too, or that the cop singled you out because you were driving a red car.

The punishment for being a despicable asshole should not be jail on unproved charges.

He has paid with his reputation.

If we won't prosecute the REAL criminals in our political arena there is no reason to prosecute him. But he's a Democrat and for many prosecutors that is sufficient.

But if he's convicted, swarms of other politicians need to join him in prison for doing the same thing he did, for doing something similar, or for doing something even worse.

I can't see any good coming from his imprisonment. He has already been thoroughly blistered. A guilty verdict only sets up an appeal and years more of public exposure for the family. Just let him go away and live quietly and try to serve his children's best interests.

If he is not guilty, then I am fine with a not guilty verdict too.

The worst things he did are not crimes unfortunately. No punishment can fix them.

I'd like him to be found not guilty of the things he's currently charged with.

But he's damn sure guilty of being a preening little self-serving narcissist who was led around by his dick. Don't want him around. Don't need him around. That he did what he did ties in with other moral issues he was campaigning on ie: caring for working people. He didn't care for his wife. Caring starts at home. He's a two-faced plastic piece of shit, AFAIC.

Like you, I just want him to go away.

I have actually shared "The Peace" a couple of times in the last six months or so. We attend the same church, the one where Cate was married.

BTW The latest RW attack on Cate this week is that she supposedly claimed she was not a "US citizen" in order to avoid jury duty here in Orange County, NC. I suspect she claimed to no longer be a resident or citizen of the county and probably of NC since she and her husband live in the DC area.

did with his illegitimate suits against OB-GYN's. He has significant responsibility for destroying careers, reputations and for increasing the rate of unnecessary c-sections.

I know he can't be charged, but what he did was despicable, and why I never, ever supported him.

For campaign funding fraud, which would be a slam dunk case. Then, throw her ass in Federal prison for three to five years.

Edwards is despicable, but I do think this is a bit of a witch hunt, and I do think there is room for him to be found not guilty. And go the fuck away.
