LOL! My wife just got back from volunteering at a library book sale

At the end of the day any used books that did not find a new owner ended up going to the mulcher.

She watched intently all day long to see if a particular set of books piqued anyone's interest.

But no. Not a single person showed any interest in these books, despite the attractive slender blond decorating the covers.

At the end of the day, she watched with amusement as every single Anne Coulter book went into the mulcher to be composted.

I hope the earthworms don't get indigestion.

Then soul, live thou upon thy servant's loss,
And let that pine to aggravate thy store;
Buy terms divine in selling hours of dross;
Within be fed, without be rich no more:
So shall thou feed on Death, that feeds on men,
And Death once dead, there's no more dying then.

Big old paper grocery bags hold a LOT of books but the stuff from Limbaugh remained.

The ONLY way these books sell is from bulk sales. A right-wing publisher sells by the case to a right-wing distributor to try to get on the NYT Bestseller List. Then places like Newsmax or WND offer the books free if you pay for your bubble world.

In this case it seems proper for them to become fodder for bacteria.

Decomposition does have a cathartic effect in this particular instance. Perhaps something good and pure can sprout from the compost of of an Anne Coulter book? Stranger things have happened in this world!

a plethora of Ann Coulter, Sarah Palin, and various other RW books out on the tables. A few were weeded from the library collection, as mentioned by a retired librarian above, but I'd say the majority of them came from donations the library system collects throughout the year. People around here know that they can donate all the books they no longer want to the library and they will either add them to the collection (rarely), sell them at the book sale (mostly), or dispose of them properly (frequently).
