They are horrible. I wanted to look because you need to be informed to be able to argue how assholery the GOP candidates are. I am so glad Trump got a bit of push back, but Cruz is still bootlicking, what a sell out.
Please let me know how you feel. Me, I believe a republican will never get into the White House in the near future.
I had to repost here as I thought this was for the GD Primaries, sorry.

(5,700 posts)That asshole has no information on foreign policy or even local policy. His policy is 'you are fired'. That is not a president, I shudder to think if he gets the nomination for the GOP, but if he does, Mrs. Clinton or Mr. Sanders will win, just hoping, not sure.

(5,700 posts)I switched to Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and then went back. Like I said earlier, I needed to see the clown bus in order to argue with our own conservatives here in Canada. Can you believe that people who are running to be the President of the US are so disgusting, stupid and uninformed!

ISIS is a direct result of the invasion of Iraq and sadly, Germany, instead of the US and its partners in crime, is stepping up to take in refugees.

(41,736 posts)so Mahalo, thanks for your message, and yeah I am okay. But gee, now a days as a Native Hawaiian, since Hawaii only became a state in 1950, not sure if I would still be considered a foreigner or not! LOL! Yeah I was born in San Francisco to two Parents who are also part Japanese and Hawaiian. We kept the Japanese name, according to my father, who once thought about going with his grandmother's name which was Hawaiian..I can't even pronounce it and neither could he!!! (old joke in our family)
ZM90
(706 posts)thank you mostly though) probably from watching subbed anime honestly but I digress. That's a cool story about the origins of your family name but yeah I can imagine how some last names will be quite difficult to pronounce. I'm glad you're doing alright. Don't let other members get you down though, sometimes DU can get a little heated. I try to take the Bernie Sanders policy of debate though and try to stay out of personal attacks.
yuiyoshida
(41,736 posts)"dou itashimashite" (you are welcome) now you have learned another Japanese word. I wish i knew some south pacific language, and I know very little Hawaiian, my parents will not teach me.. though they encourage me to keep learning Japanese, mostly cause its not about to die off like a native Hawaiian language might, some day. I tried to find out why my family were never shipped to internment camps during WWII. It was mostly because of our Hawaiian blood, ..and some Japanese families were shipped off to the mainland for Internment camps, but those with Hawaiian Native blood never had to. Many were shipped to the main island, for a camp there, but I am not even sure if my family went. My mothers maiden name was "Kāne" which she swears is a Native Hawaiian name.
Its funny, in Japanese, "Kane" means money, so of course the old joke there is my father married my mom, for the Kane (money).
I don't know the other Hawaiian names connected with the family, but I do know that during WWII my granduncle who had been on Hawaii for a few years, had the last name of Yoshida but changed it to his wife's name "Māhoe" so he wouldn't be taken to the mainland. He kept the name and no one bothered him about it.

(41,736 posts)I wouldn't know where it would fit in, certainly not in GD, no one would really care, I don't think, and as for me, well I know we have some Hawaiians on DU, just not sure if many of them are natives or replants. I can say more about San Francisco than i can about Hawaii, and my parents know it better growing up there. Not even sure why my father wanted to come to SF, maybe its true, that he was a 49er fan, and had to live closer to the team. (He's not happy about the Yorks now that they have moved the team to Santa Clara however.) My mom is so much darker than me, as she is far more native Hawaiian than my dad...and me. MY mom and Dad's family still live in Hawaii, but some how my parents had, had enough of it and left...and won't go back. Oh well...some day maybe the islands will call them back, and maybe they will bring me along, I always wanted to visit, Hawaii. I am an islander, who never lived on the island, just the peninsula known as SF, and only partly surrounded by water. Does this make me a mainland anchor baby? I guess so!!!
ZM90
(706 posts)I've always wanted to vacation on a nice island beach someday and just relax. Not go swimming mind you because I honestly never learned how to swim but to just relax. But yeah I hope you get to go visit Hawaii someday I bet that would be nice for you .

(41,736 posts)not in the Ocean, that's a totally different experience...with tide pools, and rip tides, and underwater streams...and its tad more dangerous here, because of great white sharks, and the fact that you really need a wet suit here cause its so cold...but a pool, especially a warm water pool, is wonderful!

(706 posts)You seem to have some pretty interesting stories though. I think I probably have some interesting stories too although probably not as interesting as yours. (41,736 posts)As in Jedi Knights? Star Wars? I have started a role playing game based off of Mirror's Edge,we haven't started yet, only because some gear is still being developed for our game. The Rooms are close to finished as well.

(706 posts)It still has some bugs in the released restoration mod though but nothing game breaking. Star Wars: KotOR is definitely up there in my top 10 games of all time alongside wonderful gems like Dragon Age: Origins, Ocarina of Time, Super Mario World, and Xenoblade Chronicles. I've heard Mirror's Edge is a really good game but have not played it. I think it's awesome that you are creating your own game I really like that you are deciding to be creative and go do that. I want to make my own RPG someday it will probably draw inspiration from Dragon Age, Zelda, KotOR the kind of games I tend to like because I am heavily into RPGs.

(41,736 posts)The brand new game, which is a reboot, called Mirror's Edge Catalyst will be Released in February. What we are doing is using the info from both games, and making our own Role Playing game and have quite a few players wanting to join us.
Here is a image from my outfit, but its going to be updated again really soon,so I will be ready to start playing soon.
ZM90
(706 posts)I've seen a few projects that do that. Some are quite successful but some never quite get off the ground.
Edit: Misread it sorry.
So you are using story info from both games then?
Further Edit: Here's a trailer for the KotOR 1 Restoration (NOT MY CHANNEL) in case you are interested in seeing what we did.

Here's a Mirror's Edge Catalyst thread from there. I just completed The Witcher 3 and now I'll soon be diving back into The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. They just gave us the "Redux" version, using the Unreal 4 engine, for free.

What really got to me was how they were blaming the Obama Admin for making the US unsafe and repealing medicare. These are the same puckers who tell Americans to pull themselves up by your boot straps. President Obama's healthcare is the best ever apart from single payer.

(5,700 posts)Trump has no idea of foreign policy, that is some scary shit when he gets his ideas from TV. Who would vote for this retard, but he has a following!
The entire GOP line up is fatal for the US. I prefer Mrs. Clinton even though I really do not like her. At least she is real rather than those freaks in the GOP line up.
What I do not understand is why MSNBC and CNN giving Trump so much exposure? It makes me feel that the media is on his side rather than ignoring the clown!

(4,662 posts)There is not one there that doesn't scare me, making Romney seem like a great catch. Gone are the good old days when I disagreed with all Republicans, but not every last one made me shiver quite this hard. Surreal.
I'm not scared of Trump actually, because he is going to implode. I know, I thought that as he rode down the escalator too, but it's inevitable.
The one I'm still most scared of is Rubio because I see him with the best shot at the nomination, and having an actual chance against Hillary. Fiorina made me laugh entering the race (I'm from CA) ... until she started to get traction.
What is it with all the war mongering? Typical, I guess, but in absence of the most basic understanding of the Middle East right now. Ground troops into Syria? Really? To do what exactly?
I'm mostly upset that Democrats are getting no play at all. Even MSNBC is all over the Republicans ... and our substantive issues are getting a one digit fraction of the coverage. It's infuriating. It doesn't matter at this point who the Democrat is ... just matters that our voices are being heard!

(50,150 posts)I have several observations. First, they all seem to think they'll be running against Obama. Go figure. Secondly, having an opinion that isn't in lock step with the others is a rarity and when given must be apologized for. Third and most obvious, "We love war." I admit I decided to watch because I figured it would be fun to see Trump get his clock cleaned. Mysteriously, I thought Trump was so pathetic I almost had sympathy for him. Maybe his polling will go up again. LOL.

(18,652 posts)The only ones I could stand listening to after about 1/2 hr. of it were Trump, Bush and Paul. Paul was good on the military issues and Trump I thought was the best of the lot. Occasionally his old Dem ways come through, he was against going into Iraq and he wants to tax hedge funds more (but doesn't say a word about his other corporate buddies). The Trump-Bush debate was good stuff such as the financial deals they were arguing about.

(67,008 posts)And I would say the same if democrats or independents. There individuals, most, are clearly bizarre. And for so many of them their platform is to make the US very unequal for many people and the restriction of freedom. Several of them sound like like they should be candidates in a third world country. If this is the best republicans can do, we have a very detrimental future for many Americans if any of them get near the WH.
