she was basically an affirmative action baby.

(12,471 posts)she's such a bitch!
They don't know what she did to HP. Everything HP has made since Carly was in charge was and is feces. They keep "trying" to bring back the old school, but it's not happening. And now she will do the same thing to the country if in charge.

(70,127 posts)Many people had never heard of Carly Fiorina until recently. I am not one of those people. You may have seen me mention in passing she ruined Lucent Technologies when she was President there. Please read my personal story. A family member worked for Lucent from the very beginning of the company. Through bonuses and options he accumulated 10,000 shares of stock in Lucent. Within a few short years, Lucent was selling for $84 a share. Under Carly Fiorina "leadership" the company rigged sales by lending money to their own customers. Using shady accounting, money from the loans began to appear on Lucents income statement as new revenue while the rotten debt was hidden on its balance sheets as allegedly solid assets. When the scheme collapsed, so did Lucent. Carly Fiorina left Lucent so she could ruin HP, but that is another story. Two years after Fiorina's departure, Lucent stock was selling for 55 cents a share, down from a high $84. After Fiorina was done, those 10,000 shares that had been worth $840,000 could not buy a used car. Some people now want her to run the country. I am not one of those people. I don't care how she looked in the debate last night, she may be the single worst candidate running from either party - possibly worse than Trump. If she is the GOP nominee, I will quit my job to work against her. Now you know...

(31,828 posts)Or rather the FB profile/poster you grabbed it from . . . tells no lies.
There is a lot of talk here at times about telecom/tech being kind of sort of evil. It may be - but it is also very incestuous.
She's known as a loser.

(1,005 posts)Prior to his passing, my dad had a lot of Lucent stock and it's decline really weighed on him. I don't think she'll be the nominee because of this and her record at HP being more widely disseminated. And, there is her lie about the Planned Parenthood video during the debate. She is a despicable person.

(58,785 posts)like so many who rise high, may be for self-aggrandizement, but it enabled her to smash through an almost unbreakable barrier and rise to, and apparently above, her level of competence.
If she weren't a woman, she might have become a member of the club and still be working at that level. Secure, cushy jobs above one's level of competence are a typical perk of membership.
And, of course, affirmative action has nothing to do with any of it.

(70,127 posts)i worked in construction for a few years at a time when i really needed a good paying job, and few were available. i know very well how it works.
i'm just sayin, she gives no credit for how she got where she got.

(58,785 posts)no sweet pansy who entered the board room tucked into a lapel.
Anyway, wouldn't it be suicidal for ANY Republican candidate to praise a controversial liberal program? Everyone on both debate stages is a strong-to-extreme conservative. No sensible moderate conservatives bother applying these days.

(1,018 posts)worked a couple of doors down from Carly as some sort of executive assistant while at HP, while they were still married. (He was also a scientist there and saw his retirement go down the tubes under her.) On a personal level, his wife said she was a total bitch. Very mean to people. This seems to fit with Yale business Professor Jeffrey Sonnenfeld's assessment of her inability to take advice from others - probably would work better as a dictator.
