The GOP can shut down the government for as long as it wants. The voters will forget by Nov 2016. In fact the media will probably blame the Democrats. And the voters will believe it. The last shut down did not seem to cost the GOP anything by the time the election came around. We have a seriously dysfunctional electorate and public.

I talk to democratic politicians walking our precincts. When they run into a GOPPER all they get is vitriol, hate, anger and spit. You cannot even approach these assholes with any kind of reason. They just go insane and ballistic.

It is hard to feel hopeful because of all the crap that goes on unchallenged.

1. A big problem is people who don't bother to vote because they think both parties are the same.

I don't expect the far right crowd to change, but it is possible for more people to realize that there actually is a difference between the parties and get off their asses and vote the GOP out of office. More people using the Internet for information is helping to diminish the propaganda power of the MSM. Hopefully that happens before it is too late.
