I was on the outskirts of the quake, in a new house that was on springs, basically, and when the quake started, the house bounced like mad. I came through the quake just fine, as did most of my stuff (not all, but that's life).
Anyway....right before the quake, my two cats (may they RIP, great pets) came up to me, stopped dead in their tracks, and stared at me--HARD. Just like that pic!!! Then, when they figured out that I was too stupid to understand their telepathic warnings, they looked at each other, meowed, and bolted for the safety of a room with a metal bed--they skeedaddled under that thing just before the house started shaking, and didn't come out for a good hour!
That's a fun photo, there!

Hope you stay safe.

(16,844 posts)to keep an axe. Friends of mine who have weathered very bad hurricanes have told me that. You'll need the axe if you ever have to chop your way out of the attic to get on the roof. Some people also keep a small boat or skiff in the attic as well. If you choose to stay in your home during times like that, you should be prepared for anything.

Cats are pretty smart.
Now can you fit into any of those spots???

(32,081 posts)We only had a couple of inches fall on us, so far. It's weird to think that the other end of my county got 4 times that, and that the next county over is where the worst flooding is occurring--just 50 miles away.
