If the Russians wipe out ISIS then the US has no excuse to bomb and fund insurgents inside Syria.
The Iraq thing is whole other wrinkle...

So that is Assad and Iraq saying they would rather be bombed and invaded by the Russians.

(36,418 posts)They are unlikely to shoot each other. More likely to collide, considering how crowded the airspace over Syria has become. There's an effort to make this seem like more of a US-Russia conflict than it actually is. The intended audience is the primary third-party, KSA, which the US and Russia would like to see cut funding to ISIS.
