Gerrymandering may prove a Pyrrhic victory for the GOP

Good article regarding how repubs have abused the voting process through gerrymandering, and now have to live with its destructive consequences in their own party. Note: this was written before McCarthy withdrew his name. Thanks Rove

The next House speaker, whoever he may be, will almost certainly face crippling mutinies by the 45 Republican rebels who systematically opposed John A. Boehner and ultimately succeeded in pushing him out. Maybe not right away, but eventually, because these ideological insurgents know they can defy their party leadership without fear of punishment from the voters.

How will they get away with it? The answer is gerrymandering.

Hate radio, Rush Limbaugh and the legion of republican haters on radio, Fox "news", and gerrymandered districts.

All along these radical hate america teahaddists have clearly stated their goal of destroying the american government.

My goal is to cut government in half in twenty-five years, to get it down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub.

Grover Norquist

They have no fear of the folks back home because of the gerrymandered districts.

Now the radical hate america teahaddists have driven out their own Speaker and will not settle for anyone thats not as determined as they are to destroy the government.

I hope the main street and wall street republicans are happy when the monster they created kicks in their door and burns their mansions down to the ground!

And they have gerrymandered their way into a lock on congress. They can't lose here in Michigan, in spite of the fact that a majority of the people are Democrats, Republicans control 65% of our congressional reps - all courtesy of gerrymandering. This is all the exact opposite of democracy. It's minority rule, and we are a people oppressed by a powerful and wealthy minority.

Or are you posting doom and gloom based off the OP?

In fact, if you read the article, you will see effort is well underway to solve this problem. There are solutions.

Yes, they did a lot of damage in the short-term, and they will continue to damage the execution of what might be the true will of the voters. In the long term, however, I do see solutions coming out of what was written about in the article.

Regardless, I think it is amazing how these people (republicans) fail to see down the road and understand the implications of their actions. They actually do way more damage to themselves than we could ever hope to inflict. It's astonishing, it really is.

They are babbling idiot psychopaths.

They don't care if what they believe is based on fact one bit.

They make Hitler's "good Germans" look like sane people.

The only solution is for everyone with half a brain to abuse them
every time they meet them. Let them go all they way insane with
everyone they come in contact calling them psychopaths.

Stop pretending they are ok.

Call them traitors every chance you get. Maybe that will sink in.

I am speaking from experience. I know some of these Fox Viewers.

They are worse than insane.

Just like California and Arizona! Sure they will: just like here in Michigan. Oh, wait: they didn't.
