Another shooting on campus... 1 dead, 3 injured...

Already reported by Omaha Steve..

I find it strange that I’m finding very little reporting on MSM this a.m.
Perhaps they feel that a Campus Shooting Coverage with just 1 death and 3 injuries..
Merits little coverage..

Update... Just made the board over on CNN...3 minutes ago

Do you consider a mass shooting of random people the same as an after hours alcohol fueled uppityperson Oct 2015 #6
Not so much, both mass shootings Duckhunter935 Oct 2015 #7
Thank you, that's my take also. Intention matters, though people are dead in all. uppityperson Oct 2015 #8

I'm guessing there's a couple reasons it's not getting the wall-to-wall coverage. Brickbat Oct 2015 #4

This was apparently a parking lot fight between two groups of students that turned deadly (and I'll be real surprised if alcohol wasn't involved). Not really what we think of as a "school shooting," but still awful.

Does not matter if it was after hours in a parking while alcohol was involved.

shooting between people who targeted each other?

Serious question here.

IMO, every shooting is awful but there is also a difference in motivation. I've lost several friends to being killed by guns, some targeted for who they were, some random. All are bad.

Alcohol may make things worse as judgment is effected. My main issue is label it a school shooting. I think school shootings should be ones done during school hour or school functions on school property. All of these shootings are terrible and we should try and limit them. Suicides are the biggest group of deaths by firearms.

Either is tragic, but very different motivations, etc., mean somewhat different approaches to reducing the problem will be called for.

It's over and the scenario -- a fight that escalated -- isn't nearly as gripping as the disturbed lone shooter.

But it's certainly being covered.
