The Sanders supporters have had such success fundraising with our "Democratic Underground for Bernie Sanders" campaign through ActBlue that I thought it might be cool to do the same for Planned Parenthood.

(118 posts)Perhaps we could ask DU folks to post stories of how PP helped them?

(20,184 posts)My mother died of breast cancer and I've had a scare myself (biopsies in both breasts in 2012), so supporting breast cancer organizations is something close to my heart. But not only did Komen cut mammogram funding to Planned Parenthood (briefly, but it still happened), they fiercely protect their "brand" at the expense of other breast cancer fundraising. I can understand not being able to use the Komen Foundation name if you aren't formally affiliated, but they will sic their lawyers on any event or charity using the words "for the cure" or "for a cure". Ridiculous! They even think they are the only cancer charity that can use the color PINK! The founder of the organization is paid over $500 K and the president gets over $600K.
