Colorado monthly pot sales eclipse $100 million for first time

Monthly Colorado marijuana sales have soared past the $100 million mark for the first time, according to the August recreational and medical marijuana sales data from the state Department of Revenue released Friday.

Once again, marijuana sales surpassed the previous month’s numbers with recreational marijuana coming in at $59.2 million and medical marijuana tallying $41.4 million.

The combined $100.6 million in marijuana sales continues the month-to-month record-setting trend for 2015.

Recreational cannabis sales began on Jan. 1, 2014 in Colorado, the first state to launch a retail marijuana program. In that first month, there were $46.9 million in total sales — $14.7 million was recreational, $32.2 million medical. August 2014 marked the first time that recreational sales exceeded medical sales.

And how many people are in jail in other states for simple possession? Ridiculous!

Need to confront their hypocrisy.

They are denying economic prosperity and health and safety to an entire portion of the population. $100 million dollars worth of the population.

Those states that have legalized are seeing no negative effects compared to what they had before. Legalization is a win any way you put it.

A Volusia County Sheriff's deputy shot an unarmed man in the face while serving a drug warrant on Wednesday.

Deputies say Derek Cruice, 26, resisted arrest during the incident at his Deltona, Florida home. Cruice's friends, six of whom were at the house when a SWAT team entered, called the fatal shooting "murder."

At 6:32 a.m., Deputy Todd Raible, 36, fired one shot, hitting Cruice in the face as he stood inside the doorway, police told WFTV. ...
