In 2009 a movie called 'The International' was released and it was loosely based on the corruption uncovered in John Kerry's BCCI investigation. Though its stars were hot box office at the time, Clive Owen and Naomi Watts, and was well-received by critics, the corporate media collectively ignored its release and few even mentioned it. They, instead, gave widespread coverage to a remark made by Watts regarding difficulties of motherhood, and that redirected all talk of the movie.
In 2014 a movie called 'Kill the Messenger' was released and it was firmly based in the corruption uncovered in John Kerry's investigation of Contra cocaine and CIA drug running (targeting US inner cities to dump tons of cheap IranContra cocaine) and reported through independent investigation by Pulitzer Prize winning reporter Gary Webb. Though its star Jeremy Renner was also a hot box office draw, the corporate media collectively ignored it and some took the same path as before - Killing the Messenger, Gary Webb, once again.
With this film 'Truth' the corporate media will most certainly circle the wagons around the BFEE, yet again, knowing full well that they were complicit in the takedown of Dan Rather to keep Bush in the WH for the favorable ownership rules they were expecting from a Bush 2nd term.
We cannot let that happen again.
'The International' and 'Kill the Messenger' were rarely discussed here at DU as a hot topic, except by those here who still see the compelling relevance of the real history exposed in BCCI, IranContra, and CIA drug running.
We cannot let that happen again.
The corporate media always counts on the American public to ignore what THEY want the American public to ignore.
We cannot let that happen again.
Go see 'Truth' with your family, your friends, with your political organizations and groups.
Don't let corporate media bury 'Truth'. They have already begun to undermine it

(34,139 posts)That is going to carry it.
I hunted the AMC and Regal Theater systems (the two that have franchises here in Tallahassee) for a date for cities I could get to - I could not find it listed at any theater in Florida that is scheduled to show the movie through the end of this year. Not one. My search was not completely exhaustive but I spent a good hour trying to find somewhere to see it.
At this point my best possibility to see it is to wait until it is out on DVD and buy a copy.
