We've Become A Nation Of Peasants It Just Not Obvious Yet.

30 years of "trickle down" Reaganomics has made most workers a nation of peasants. It is just not that obvious yet. The 1% views workers as just their servants. Sure most workers know something is radically wrong, but the true economic monster has not fully revealed itself yet.

The more hysteria and hate the GOP can create means they can continue this game. 2016 is not a guarantee for Dems either. The massive distortion of information in the country favors the GOP. The fact that you can just make stuff up and it is carried forward is a real threat to democracy.

When you look at all the lies put our every day about Hillary it is a good example of how far off into the weeds we are. No matter how bad the lies are a lot of voters will believe them.

Of course I hope people are waking up but I have serious doubts.

The oligarchs don't even care that much about us. We're fungible commodities, at best. They haven't needed most of us to produce goods for them for years, and we're becoming less important all the time as consumers of those goods.

Thought the last thirty years of Reaganomics,we are mirroring the Depression Era of the Thirties only the value of goods and service is expressed in inflated dollars with the same net values. Yes we are Peasants, changing more dollars with the same end results. Many of the Boomers have forgotten the early forties when vast areas of our Country were still shaking out of the Great Depression which did not really end until 1948 for the most part.

With the M$M in control of the big 6 owners, most of out Nation does not have a clue, and like you say, hope they awaken soon.

where the only choice in the GE is between corporate toadies, a functionally enslaved and brainwashed proletariat existing under a fully-implemented fascist surveillance state has been the oligarchy's dream since the days of the Business Plot against FDR. which was exposed by Marine General Smedley Butler.

each other and, once divided, conquered by people like the Kochs and Karl Rove. It's taken them 35 years to get this far, and they still have many goals they want to achieve.

Which they will not, because we are NOT peasants. Except for those who accept subjugation. If so, go ahead and continue to pull your forelocks and be glad of whatever they leave you.

I am a pissed-off citizen who's been waiting 30 years for enough other citizens to come to their senses and join us to turn this around and start building again.

Peasants can either get out of the way or grab a pitchfork and fight for their lords. That's their role in this.

Marijuana is classified as a dangerous drug so that "hippies" can be given criminal convictions and keep them as serfs.

at redistricting the country to their advantage.
I have more optimism about the awareness of the average voter than the OP, and believe if the repukes hadn't been so masterful at stacking the deck (where were we when all that happened anyway??) the future wouldn't look nearly so grim.
Redraw the lines in a fair, sensible way and we'll be back in business, imo.
