The Tea Party is the pit bull chained in the backyard of the Republican Party...

In 2008, the pup was whelped. It was taunted and poked with sticks unti lit became angry and vicious. The Republicans unleashed it and let it run wild through the electorate and they were happy as they watched it attack and maul the hated neighbors across the street. But now that same crazed dog has turned on its owners. What will happen next?

for chained dogs. Not so for the ludicrous wing of the Republican party.

A chained dog has no choice in her outcome... Tealiban members do.

I have no sympathy for the owners who chain up dogs. The analogy is to owners who intentionally turn their dogs into crazed creatures and then wonder why the animal turns on them. The dogs deserve our sympathy of course.

If you want a lawn ornament, then get a garden gnome.

That said, most chained dogs don't turn on their owners, sadly. They either go crazy from boredom or starve to death.

They're about 8% of the population, so <10% of folks not aligned with the Tea Party approve of them.

Ooops.

I spend several days with some very right-wing relatives and their equally fascist friends. Bitter curmudgeons all. They're all teabaggers ( they identify with the TP and have since it became a buzz )

The reality is that they are a small sliver, but a very very strident one. Talk to them and they strongly believe they represent the majority of the population. They also have much disdain for younger people. It was most apparent.
