A Prosecutor's Guide To Not Prosecuting A Cop Who Killed Someone:

1. Narrate to the jury what they REALLY see on the video.

2. Remind the jury that the video doesn't actually matter. The only thing that matters is the officer's right to not have his split-second decision questioned in hindsight.

3. Elaborate in needless detail how the dead person was a really, really bad person.

4. Okay, the officer violated the rules of engagement, but we are all just human after-all. Everybody makes mistakes.

5. Point out that the officer is a good person and that the dead guy is a bad person.

6. It's the dead guy's fault. He started all of this with his decision to not comply with the orders of the officer, which ultimately and inevitably lead to his death.
Which is sad.
Even though he's a bad person and had it coming.
