After being called out for his relationship with a shady medical supplement company during last nights third Republican presidential debate on CNBC, Ben Carsons campaign has taken the standard Republican anti-media shtick and redirected its ire at the Republican National Committee (RNC), threatening to lead a revolt of the campaigns against upcoming party-sanctioned debates.
Carsons campaign manager, Barry Bennet, told the Washington Examiner that he planned to organize competing campaigns to pressure the RNC to make what he called wholesale change to future debates.
I think the families need to get together here, because these debates as structured by the RNC are not helping the party, Bennet said immediately following the end of Wednesdays night CNBC debate.
I think at this point, if five or six of us get together, who generate the largest portion of the audience, we can force change, he insisted confidently, threatening to commandeer the debate process away from RNC chairman Reince Priebus.

(2,943 posts)There is getting it, then there is not getting it. Dr. Carson does not get it!
Then again, he may get it. Unfortunately, for the USA public, Carson's simplistic P.R. message may not allow him to answer any question with any degree of honesty. Which by that logic, Carson will say one thing for political expedience, then do another for the matter at hand. This will lead to more mistrust of the government, corruption by his staff, unintended consequences of his polices, etc. Carson cannot be trusted to take the correct action as needed if he is the President of the USA, another words, Carson does not get it...

(6,496 posts)He seems way too stupid to be a neurosurgeon, which I think means he is pretty much constantly lying.

(14,920 posts)and I mean that in all seriousness and without an iota of snark. He had a distinguished career at one of the world's most highly regarded teaching hospitals. I know that doesn't confer any expertise in the affairs of state, but it should at least require a level of critical thinking that is sorely lacking in candidate Carson. Maybe he has really been slipping for a while, which could also account for his retirement from performing neurosurgery.

(6,496 posts)I am perplexed by him. He should have just quietly retired from his job as a surgeon.
